Waveney secure kirkley and Pakefield Fc 5aside tournament.

A busy weekend saw Waveney continue there pre-season plans with a trip to Caister Fc which ended with a 3-1 victory to our Premier division opponents. We managed to field a more experienced team than the saturday before against Long Stratton. And George Millington and Michael King were both very impressed with another committed display against higher league opposition. Our goalscorer was Chris Bond.We have signed several new players with ThurlowNunn experience as we know that there experience will be needed to do well in senior football.Chris Bond,Bradley Hough and another former Lowestoft Town player Daniel Scrivens have put pen to paper with hopefully a few more to come.So far we haven't been able to have everyone available yet with holidays, weddings etc but we will have competition in every position .On to Sunday and we just about managed to field two teams for The Kirkley and Pakefield Fc 5aside tournament. Both teams qualified for the quarter finals and then on to the semis.Waveney Fc then beat kirkley and Pakefield nuts 1-0 whilst Afc Waveney beat Oulton Broad after a penalty shoot out.The final an all Waveney affair saw a comfortable 2-0 win for the Waveney Fc.
