A fund which continues the legacy of a Lowestoft man who helped launch the careers of many aspiring footballers in the town has been unveiled.
Brian Gallagher, founder of Waveney Youth Football Club died in October , 2013. Mr Gallagher set up Waveney Youth FC in 1978.
To ensure that his memory lives on, The Brian Gallagher Football fund aims to organise football matches, events, secure sponsorships and donations to benefit junior clubs and promote community participation in grassroots football.
With Sentinel Leisure Trust supporting the fund, it aims to not only recognise the work Mr. Gallagher did for youngsters within the area but also support organisations in Lowestoft who work with children under the age of 16.
The fund was officially launched with newly- sponsored shirts donated to it's first beneficiaries, Waveney u13 Foxes.
