Waveney FC are considering setting up a “Walking Football” team and to that end are having an inaugural session to gauge interest on Saturday 18th February from 9am to 9.45am at Barnard’s Meadow on the ATP. This will be for ladies and gents 50 years of age & over at a cost of £2 per session.

"It is a lot harder than it looks as there is a natural tendency to run - even at 50+ .If you do then the ref blows for a foul. From my experience of playing it at Kirkley and Pakefield fc, it is a very enjoyable and sociable experience even if your muscles do want to divorce you the next day. The fact that you can only walk whilst playing is a great leveler. People of all abilities and fitness play alongside each other and have fun! The bonus is that you meet a lot of people and make new friends. You may even get fitter!"
